Michael has spent most of his career in insurance and financial services. For ten years between 1991 and 2001 he worked within the senior management group of Zurich Financial Services Group; he was also part of the business development team, initially as manager and later as director, and was involved in a wide variety of projects including mergers and acquisitions, business process re-engineering, strategic reviews, etc.

He was managing director of Zurich Financial Services (Channel Islands) Limited between 1998 and 2001 and was responsible for the integration of a variety of businesses together with the investment, insurance, assurance and trust businesses in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. Michael became a principal of Trustcorp in 2002.

Michael oversees the Risk Management function and is also responsible for the implementation of the Group's business development strategy.
